Students must register in the program each year.
You can register if you are a:
- New student who has received an Offer of Admission letter from your home graduate unit. If you have conditions placed on your offer letter, you may register but your conditions must be cleared by August 31st, otherwise your registration will be cancelled.
- Continuing student who is within the time limit for your degree program.
- Student with no outstanding U of T tuition fees.
You are considered registered as soon as you have paid tuition and incidental fees or have requested to register without payment.
Full-time students who are the recipients of funding package can defer tuition fees on ACORN. All other full-time students who are unable to do so can submit the Register Without Payment Form to the Graduate Office.
Part-time students cannot defer their fees.
Graduate Students who have permission from their department to access SWS (Student Web Service) may request courses on ACORN.
Students interested in taking courses outside the Department must obtain approval prior to enrolling in the course. Please complete and submit the SGS Course Add/Drop Form to the Graduate Office for processing.
Critical dates for course enrolment and withdrawal
FALL: September 20, 2021 – Final date to add a fall session (F) and full year (Y) courses
October 25, 2021 – Final date to drop September session full or half courses without academic penalty
WINTER: January 17, 2022 – Final date to add a winter session (S) course
February 20, 2022 – Final date to drop full-year (Y) or January session (S) courses without academic penalty
