How to Submit your Academic Records
Applicants are responsible for submitting academic records after the online application is submitted. Academic records are comprised of several components including:
- Official transcript for each post-secondary institution
- Preliminary official post-secondary transcripts for each institution you have attended are due by January 31, 2022 for grades up to and including the previous academic year, as well as any grades from the first term of the current year (if available).
- Final official post-secondary transcripts, including grades for all courses for the current year, are due by May 27, 2022.
- Note: Applicants who are currently registered, or were previously registered, at the University of Toronto are not required to submit official transcripts from the University of Toronto – our office will automatically access these records electronically. To ensure we can access these records, include your University of Toronto student number and list the University of Toronto among the institutions attended on your application.
- Online Transcript Data
In addition to the official transcript(s), you must manually submit the full record of university course codes, course weights, and grades via the Applicant website after an application is submitted. These entries are used to calculate your cumulative university average and are therefore required of all applicants, including University of Toronto students. Your online entries will be checked against the official transcripts.
Upon submission of the online Application, applicants are given access to a secure Applicant website. Applicants must access the Applicant website, via PIN and Password, to submit all university course codes, course weights, and grades for all post-secondary institutions in Canada and the USA. Preliminary data, with transcripts data from past years, along with the data for the first term of the current year (if available), must be submitted online by January 31, 2022. Final course and grade submissions must be submitted by May 27, 2022.
This should not be confused with the information, related only to the required subjects, that is initially submitted on the online application. The information submitted on the online application is related to and used only to determine if you will be meeting all subject requirements, while the information submitted on the Applicant website, subsequent to submission of the online application, will be used to calculate your cumulative university average for those who have attended a school in Canada or the USA.
Both the online submission of grades and the submission of official university transcripts (preliminary and final) as outlined above is required. The only exception to this is for University of Toronto students who are required to make online submissions, but are not required to provide an official university transcript.
Transcripts may be a traditional hard copy OR an electronic transcript. To be official the transcript must be sent directly from the institution to our office regardless of the method (hard copy or electronic). Only transcripts received from a trusted administrative source will be accepted as official – student issued transcripts are not acceptable.
