Examples of Acceptable Courses
The table below provides examples of the known courses, or combinations of courses, which may be used to meet specific subject requirements for the PharmD program. The table includes listings for Ontario Universities, as well some non-Ontario universities. Due to the large number of post-secondary institutions we cannot list all institutions. You may meet our academic requirements by attending any recognized university. Updates will be made to these listings as new information becomes available.
The courses listed in the Biology, Chemistry and Math fields are suggestions of typical course combinations that may be used to meet specific subject areas, and are most commonly required at first and second year level science programs. You must complete the minimum number of full course equivalents (FCE) in each subject area as indicated below.
While there is no specific required course content, prospective students must include 0.5 FCE Calculus to satisfy the Math requirement. Please refer to restrictions outlined in the Academic Requirements section.
Biology - 1.0 FCE |
Chemistry – 1.5 FCEs |
Math –1.0 FCE (including 0.5 FCE Calculus) |

In addition to the subjects listed on the table below remember that the following courses are also among the subject requirements:
- Two terms/semesters of Humanities/Social Sciences at the university level are also among the subject requirements but none are listed in the table as there are a very wide range of subjects that are acceptable. Please refer to the Academic Requirements section for additional details.
