The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy is pleased to announce Minh-Hiên Lê as Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream, effective July 1, 2025.

A dedicated educator and clinician, Assistant Professor Lê has served as an Adjunct Lecturer with the PharmD program since 2013 and brings more than a decade of clinical and teaching experience to the new role.

Assistant Professor Lê completed her BScPhm and PharmD degrees at the University of Toronto and a hospital pharmacy residency at Hamilton Health Sciences. Currently a Clinical Pharmacist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre since 2006, her wide-ranging clinical experience includes General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Cardiology, and General Internal Medicine—providing her with the breadth and depth needed to support student learning across therapeutic areas.

“I really enjoy being able to help students break down complex pharmacotherapy problems,” said Lê. “Helping them to break down information and prioritize issues to problem solve effectively is not just a skill that will help them succeed in pharmacy school, but is also a skill that will help them succeed as a pharmacist providing care to patients.”

In addition to teaching emerging pharmacists in the PharmD program, Assistant Professor Lê has contributed to professional development opportunities for practicing pharmacists nationally. As a Professional Practice Specialist with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, now known as the Canadian Society of Healthcare-Systems Pharmacy (CSHP), from 2021 to 2023, she developed and coordinated Hospital Pharmacy 101. This is a CCCEP-accredited continuing education program for practicing pharmacists across Canada interested in boosting hospital pharmacy skills.

In 2019–2020, Assistant Professor Lê held the Pharmacy Innovation Fellowship as part of the TAHSNp Health Professionals Innovation Fellowship Program. Her practice-based research project explored transitions in patient care and the pharmacists’ role in enhancing patient care through discharge medication counselling. Her current research interests extend to emerging areas in pharmacy education, including the use of artificial intelligence in pharmacy practice and evolving new ways to teach students the critical thinking skills needed to navigate and leverage new technologies.

Most recently, Assistant Professor Lê has made significant contributions to developing the Year 1 curriculum for the new Three-Year PharmD program. As co-lead of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Working Group, she has helped guide inclusive approaches to course development and has contributed to the creation of a case-writing guide for faculty to support integration of best practices across the new curriculum.
