Announcing CPO Scholarships Competition for 2025-2026

The Centre for Pharmaceutical Oncology (CPO) is pleased to announce that the competition for the CPO scholarships for 2025-2026 is now open. The CPO is offering up to 8 one-year scholarships ($ 4,000 each) to MSc and PhD graduate student trainees who are members of the CPO and are enrolled in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Please note that applications will be accepted only from CPO trainees who are Full Trainee Members and whose supervisor holds a primary or cross-appointment at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. The supervisor must be a Full Member of the CPO.

Note: Completed application, bio-sketch, letter of recommendation from your supervisor and non-official transcript must be received by August 15, 2025.

Review Process and Criteria for Selection

All applications will be screened for eligibility. Please be sure that you are a full trainee member of the CPO and that your supervisor is a full member. Only students who are enrolled in a graduate program or have been accepted into a graduate program to commence in September 2025 under the supervision of a CPO faculty member are eligible.

All eligible applications will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and scored on a 0 (lowest)-10 (highest) scale according to the following criteria:

  • Student transcript (20%)
  • Student accomplishments in publication or conference presentations or other academic research activities as indicated on bio-sketch (25%)
  • Student’s proposed research project and alignment with cancer research mission of the CPO(40%)
  • Letter of recommendation (15%)

Based on the scores, applications will be ranked and scholarships awarded up to 8 scholarships. The Scholarships Committee will use its discretion in awarding scholarships to ensure a balanced and wide representation of member trainees within the laboratories and research fields of the CPO.
