Since 2007, the government of Ontario has leveraged community pharmacist expertise in medication management by introducing and remunerating community pharmacies for several professional pharmacy services, including medication reviews through MedsCheck. This program remunerates pharmacies for completing medication reviews among patients with diabetes or those taking three or more medications for chronic disease.

Below you will find interactive charts exploring longitudinal data related to MedsCheck programs, divided into four categories:

  • Annual: Blue
  • Diabetes: Red
  • Home: Green
  • Long-Term Care: Yellow

Three main indicators were selected, and are represented in the interactive atlas tool as distinct tabs for each service:

  1. Trends: Trends in the number of monthly claims by region and type of service.
  2. Age & Sex: Crude counts and rates by age-group and sex.
  3. Maps: Choropleth maps representing regional summaries of standardized rates.
