Main Duties:

  • Maintain compliance and adhere to Provincial and company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as well as relevant laws and regulations
  • Document, advise and inform patients on usage, administration, and side effects of prescription and over-the-counter medication
  • Compound prescribed pharmaceutical products by calculating, measuring, and mixing the quantities of drugs and other ingredients required and filling appropriate containers with correct quantity
  • Ensure proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, biologicals, and pharmaceuticals
  • Perform patient services such as injections, vaccinations, medication reviews, pharmaceutical opinions and minor ailment prescribing
  • Maintain accurate billing and dispensing records as required by the Ontario College of Pharmacists, drug plans and internal programs and standards
  • Maintain all necessary patient medication profiles to optimize care
  • Dispensing and supervision of opioid dependence treatment
  • Monitoring blood pressure, blood glucose and point of care testing

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • OCP Part A Pharmacy License with no reprimands or limits to practice
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Pharmacist in a retail pharmacy
  • Knowledge of Pharmaclik Rx or Nexxsys Software Programs an asset
  • Certified Diabetes Educator and other medical condition certification an asset
  • Injection training and First Aid/CPR certification
  • Capable of assessing and recommending over-the-counter treatments or prescribing prescription medications for minor ailments
  • Valid Opioid Treatment training or willingness to update
  • Experience educating and providing counsel and instruction to patients
  • Able to analyze and decipher data to provide recommendations
  • Actively engaged with continuing education and expanded scope of practice initiatives
  • Bondable – able to provide proof of, and maintain, a clean criminal record
  • Comfortable working independently
  • Professional and friendly attitude

  • Able to think strategically and use critical and analytical skills to solve problems
  • Excellent customer service skills with a compassionate mindset
