Job Description

The Academy brings together Canada’s top-ranked health and biomedical scientists and scholars to make a positive impact on the urgent health concerns of Canadians. We conduct evidence-based assessments to inform public policy. The posted reports from our assessment on autism and most recently on health human resources are examples of our approach and the work involved.

Researchers play a central role in the assessment process, gathering and synthesizing information for consideration by an expert panel.

Build on your career experience as you:

  • Conduct an environmental scan of policy documents, extracting suggested policy directions/initiatives and outcomes
  • Search for additional literature in key areas identified by the co-chair(s)
  • Conduct key informant interviews
  • Develop stakeholder surveys and summarize results
  • Summarize and synthesize information for an expert panel 
Job Requirements

Experience and Assets:

  • 3 or more years of experience of policy-oriented research within the field of health sciences
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills
  • Experience with working remotely and collaboratively in a virtual environment
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Home-based office, including computer with high-speed, reliable internet and phone.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in health, public policy, communications or related field
  • Proficiency with technology through a range of platforms and programs (e.g. zoom, google docs, alchemer, ppt, basic web design)
  • Bilingualism (English and French, written and verbal) is an asset
