Join us for an insightful panel discussion on the evolving relationships between insurance, reimbursement, and pharmacy in Canada. Our panel will discuss topics including preferred pharmacy networks, the implications of pharmacare, and more. This session will include a 40-minute panel conversation followed by audience Q&A.

Chris Bonnett
Chris Bonnett established H3 Consulting in 1999, after 18 years of progressive experience in employee benefits. He provides practical policy research for private and public drug plan leaders, and advises on strategies to improve health in the workplace. Chris has been a director on the Boards of four health service organizations. He is a member of the Program Advisory Committee for Humber College’s Bachelor of Health Sciences – Workplace Health and Wellness degree. He provides peer review of drug policy research for the Canadian Medical Association Journal, and has written a number of commentaries for the CD Howe Institute. Chris holds a PhD in drug policy from the University of Waterloo and a Master's degree in Health Science from the University of Toronto.
Paul Grootendorst
Paul Grootendorst is an academic economist and professor in the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto. His research interests are in the economic aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development; pharmaceuticals use, insurance and reimbursement; and interactions between innovative (brand) and generic drug firms. He is also interested in methods for program evaluation using observational data. He is adjunct associate professor in the Department of Economics, McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, associate editor of Health Economics and past president, Canadian Health Economics Association.
Michael Nashat
Dr. Michael Nashat, PharmD, RPh is a pharmacist, healthcare executive, and strategic advisor with 20 years of leadership in pharmacy operations, specialty pharmacy, and drug-plan management. A co-founder and Board Member of OnPharm United, he helps drives finance and advocacy for about 600 independent pharmacies, advancing fair reimbursement, patient choice and expanded scope. Michael is a former Director of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, has served on the Ontario Ministry of Health Pharmacy Council, and sits on committees with both the Neighbourhood Pharmacy Association of Canada and the Ontario Pharmacists Association Economics Committee. He also co-founded TerrAscend Corp (TSX: TSND), guiding its expansion across Canada, the U.S., and Europe. These roles place him at the forefront of payer–pharmacy relations, pharmacare, and the future of preferred pharmacy networks.
