The Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy is pleased to announce Lisa Ferrara has accepted the role as Assistant Professor in the Teaching Stream (Contractually Limited Term) effective July 1, 2025.

A trained pharmacist and Faculty alumna, Assistant Professor Ferrara has nearly 30 years of experience in community pharmacy, with 15 years as a preceptor to pharmacy students. Her passion for pharmacy education led her to join the Faculty in 2018 as a clinical instructor, contributing to Medication Therapy Management 1, 2, 3 and 4.

“Having been a part of the early skills labs and also a course coordinator for APPE experiential courses, it has been rewarding to see how students have developed into caring competent professionals,” said Ferrara. “Being a part of a dedicated team involved in educating students has been personally rewarding and has kept me engaged in our profession.”

Outside of the classroom, Assistant Professor Ferrara is the co-lead for Experiential Education (Year 1) for the new Three-Year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) curriculum. In this position, she has worked alongside her co-lead to design a longitudinal experiential course for first-year students in the Three-Year PharmD that allows students to connect their knowledge and skills to real-world situations early on in their pharmacy journey.

“I am excited to collaborate with members of the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy community to mentor the next generation of pharmacists,” said Ferrara. “I am passionate about teaching our students the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the evolving landscape of our pharmacy profession.”

Please join us in congratulating Assistant Professor Ferrara on her new appointment.
