Monica is a licensed pharmacist with over 25 years of diverse experience, most recently as a senior executive at Amgen Canada in Medical and Scientific Affairs. Monica has extensive expertise in strategic planning and has been involved in the launch of over 20 innovative therapies with a focus on biologic and gene therapies in multiple therapeutic areas including Oncology and Rare Diseases. She is known for her creative problem-solving skills and team leadership.
Teaching and life-long learning are passions for Monica, and she is an Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream for the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of Toronto and is the Coordinator for Canada’s Industrial Pharmacy Residency Program. She also creates and leads various workshops for Medical Affairs professionals.
Monica founded COMPASS Medical Affairs Consulting Inc. in 2017 with a focus to uncover and solve complex problems for organizations to build and develop highly valued Medical Affairs teams. Since this time, she has successfully worked on over 100 projects with more than 25 biopharmaceutical companies in North America. In 2019, she co-founded Medical Affairs Canada with a focus on talent development and providing enterprise Medical Affairs services and expertise to pharmaceutical companies furthering her commitment to Medical Affairs excellence.
