Clarence Chant is the Senior Director of Pharmacy at Unity Health Toronto, an academic health network consisting of St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph Health Centre and Providence Healthcare. He completed his BScPhm at the University of Toronto and a hospital practice residency at St. Michael’s Hospital prior to obtaining his PharmD degree from Wayne State University in Detroit. He held positions as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University for several years, then accepted a position as Clinical Pharmacy Specialist (Critical Care/Research) at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Chant is a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist, associate editor of the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy, past editor of the Pharmacotherapy Self-Assessment Program and past member of the Canadian Critical Care Trials group. He has been awarded Fellow status by both Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

His involvement with the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy over the years has included roles as adjunct faculty in the post-BSc PharmD program, teaching in the online version, course coordinator in the Critical Care elective and, most recently, guest lecturer for the Hospital Pharmacy Administration course. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy and a member of the Hospital University Pharmacy Education Committee.
