Dr. Jun Wan is a tenured Associate Professor and Associated Director of Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (CCBB) at the Indiana University School of Medicine. He directs the Collaborative Core for Cancer Bioinformatics (C3B) shared by two NCI-designated cancer centers in Indiana, Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center and Purdue Institute for Cancer Research.
Trained originally as a physicist, Dr. Wan earned PhD degree from Queen’s University, Ontario Canada, before transitioning to bioinformatics during postdoctoral training at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research focuses on computational systems biology and network‑based analysis of gene regulation by integrating multi‑omics data to uncover mechanistic drivers of cancer and other complex diseases. Dr. Wan has authored over 160 peer‑reviewed publications and leads highly collaborative, federally funded research supported by the NIH and other agencies. In 2023, he was named a Showalter Scholar in recognition of his significant contributions to biomedical research and the broader scientific community in Indiana University.
