Ronald A. Siegel is Professor and Head of Pharmaceutics, and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Minnesota (UMN).  He received his ScD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 1984.  He was on the faculty at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) during 1984-1998, after which he joined UMN.  Prof. Siegel was President of the Controlled Release Society (CRS) during 1997-1998.  He is Fellow of CRS, the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS), and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).  His research interests, over the years, have spanned self-regulated drug delivery, hydrogels, microfabrication, intranasal delivery of anti-epileptics, supersaturation, and mathematical modeling of pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and membrane transport.
