Doctor of Pharmacy Student Tiana Tilli Receives 2017 OPA Student of Distinction Award

Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy student Tiana Tilli is the recent recipient of the 2017 Student of Distinction Award from The Ontario Pharmacists Association. Tiana was recognized with the award at the OPA Gala on June 17th.

This award is presented to a graduating pharmacy student from one of Ontario’s two schools of pharmacy who has exhibited strong leadership qualities and a commitment to advancing the profession of pharmacy throughout their academic career.

Tiana is a recent graduate of the Doctor of Pharmacy program (2017) at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy. ”Some of her involvement at the University of Toronto includes serving as president of the Undergraduate Pharmacy Society (UPS) and as 1T7 Class President and Vice-President, acting as webmaster for the Global Medicine Initiative, leading Pharmacist Awareness Month activities and organizing a Summer Mentorship Program. Her career goals include enhancing the care provided to marginalized patient populations and increasing the public’s awareness of pharmacists’ expanded role in health care.

“I believe that confidence and the ability to problem solve are two of the most important qualities needed to succeed as a pharmacist,” she said. “We need confidence in ourselves, in our therapeutic judgment, and in the ability of our profession to take on a larger role in providing health care to Canadians.”

Congratulations, Tiana, on this honour.
