Message from the Dean

As Dean of Canada’s oldest and largest pharmacy school, I would like to welcome you to the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy website. As you can imagine, this site is full of information about the programs we offer, our outstanding students, our amazing faculty members and administrative staff, our incredible alumni, and our world-class research programs.

Much has changed since 1953 when the Faculty of Pharmacy joined the University of Toronto. Over the past sixty years, the role of the pharmacist in the healthcare system has experienced an astonishing transformation. Thanks to recent legislative changes and an increased awareness of the value of pharmacists, today’s pharmacist is a critical partner in the healthcare system, a front-line practitioner tasked with preserving the health of patients and communities across Canada.

To succeed in this expanded role, pharmacists require more training and experiential opportunities than ever before. In response to this changing need, the Faculty offers a host of educational programs designed to produce the future leaders in pharmacy practice and pharmaceutical sciences research.

Whether you are a prospective or current student, practicing pharmacist, alumni, or are just interested in pharmacy, I encourage you to explore our website and learn more about our Faculty.
